Police officers patrol the streets of Louisville 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Over the course of a year, the patrol officers respond to over 4,000 calls for service. These calls range from noise complaints and nuisance calls to more serious crimes. We believe that the presence of police officers in the community and interaction with the community deters and reduces crime. Occasionally certain areas of the city are targeted for additional patrols as a result of increased criminal activity or traffic complaints. The City of Louisville enjoys very low crime rates and our patrol officers work diligently to help ensure that they remain low.
