Excellence in Financial Reporting and
Perfect Audits In addition, the City of Louisville has received awards from the State Auditor's Office for having perfect audit reports for 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004. These reports can be found on the Ohio State Auditor's website at www.auditor.state.oh.us/ using the audit search tool. If you have any questions, feel free to contact the Finance Office. Also, the City of Louisville was the
proud recipient of the GFOA Budget Award in 1999, 2004 and
2005. The current 2006 Budget is available for public inspection
in the Finance Office. The Income Tax Department enforces the city's codified tax ordinance. This department controls tax receipt for the taxpayers, keeping accurate records and enforcing payment of all taxes. The Louisville City Income Tax is levied at a rate of two percent. All salaries, wages, commissions and other compensations earned by residents and nonresidents, sixteen years of age or older, for work done or services performed or rendered in Louisville, are subject to these tax requirements. The City's income tax credit has been reduced to 50% for tax year(s) 2005 and 2006. This change applies to all individual tax returns. Direct any questions regarding the income to the Income Tax Office at (330) 875-3434. Information regarding the Rollback and Homestead Exemption, Real Estate Tax, Real Estate Assessments, Inheritance Tax and Personal Property Tax should be directed to the Stark County Auditor at (330) 438-0357. The property tax rate is established each year by the City Council based on the city's fiscal needs and the appraised value of all taxable property within the city. Citizens are invited to comment on the proposed budget each year prior to the public meetings. For more information, contact the City Clerk at (330) 875-3321. |
