City Manager's Office

Under the Home Rule Charter approved by voters in 1960, the City of Louisville operates in a Council-Manager form of government. The city manager is chosen by Louisville City Council based solely on executive and administrative qualifications with special reference to actual experience. As the chief executive officer and head of the administrative branch of the city government, the city manager is responsible to the council for the proper administration of all the affairs of Louisville.
